Not only do local vendors display an inviting array of fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers, and plants during the growing season, but in recent years, a number of artisans have joined the farmers and planters offering home-made baked goods, handcrafted items, unique jewelry, and other art objects.

7th Annual Libby, Montana Riverfront Blues Festival

Join us for two days of Smokin' Hot Blues on the banks of the beautiful Kootenai River. Dance the night away to top notch Blues music under the unique log pavilion in Riverfront Park with the spectacular Cabinet Mountain Wilderness as a backdrop!  The two day festival kicks off Friday at 6:00p.m. and comes to a smashing close with the very popular All Star Jam after midnight on Saturday!

Northwest Community Health Center Happy and Healthy Kids Camp
 
Northwest Community Health Center is excited to offer a week-long camp designed especially for kids ages 4-10. Camp activities will not only encourage healthy eating habits through interactive education, but will also lend a positive attitude toward physical exercise through fun and physical sports play involving a bounce house, an obstacle course, and a kids mini color run.

This special week will take place Monday, August 10th through Thursday, August 13th at Asa Wood Elementary School from 9:00am to 12:00pm.

We are pleased to have Libby’s own, Jim Shadle, present an informative, fun, brain-stimulating, interactive program highlighting word games created by Will Shortz, the world's only academically accredited puzzlemaster.
 
This featured crossword celebrity is the long-time puzzlemaster on National Public Radio’s (NPR) Weekend Edition Sunday and is the renowned New York Times crossword puzzle editor. He is also the only person in the world to hold a college degree in Enigmatology, the study of puzzles, which he earned from Indiana University in 1974.
 
Free lemonade and a cookie will be provided for all attendees!
 
A delicious lunch consisting of summer salads and cheese rolls will be available for purchase for $5.00 or you are welcome to bring your own sack lunch.

One dollar from every beer sold supports the Heritage Museum Model T Fund to restore, repair, maintain and insure the 1927 Model T Ford Touring car, the 1926 Model T Ford coupe, and the 1917/1918 Model T Ford Touring car. 

All three cars will be on site during this event.  Come on down for a brew and enjoy some automobile history!

Don't miss the Kootenai Valley Christian School 1st Annual Country Fair Saturday August 22, 2015 from 11:00am – 3:00pm at the Fred Brown Pavilion located on the south bank of the beautiful Kootenai River  in Riverfront Park.

Libby’s first of many country fairs promises to be a fun-packed day for all ages. Special attractions for children include a bounce house and old-fashioned games including the three-legged race, a tug-of-war competition, various foot races, and a bean bag toss.
 
Contests such as the quilt contest, the pie contest, and Libby’s largest zucchini contest are sure to be a hit among the adults eager to strut their stuff!
 
A barbecue lunch in addition to traditional country fair refreshments including popcorn and cotton candy will be sold throughout the day.
 
This awesome festival of food, games, and prizes will certainly be a great day for all families to share our spirit with the community at large.
 
The fair is open to the public and admission is free.

Fully sponsored by the Rotary Club of Kootenai Valley, Montana Shakespeare In the Parks will perform Cyrano de Bergerac, a play written in 1897 by French playwright Edmond Rostand.

Montana Shakespeare in the Parks, based out of Montana State University in Bozeman, is the only fully professional touring theatre program in the state currently producing Shakespeare’s plays offering all performances free to the public, guaranteeing accessibility to all. It brings highly anticipated performances to cities in Montana, North Dakota, Washington, and Idaho each summer. 

 
Bring a lawn chair or blanket to the grassy expanse in front of the amphitheater and a picnic meal to enjoy while watching the performance.

We are pleased to have Neal Lewing present “Singing the Westward Legacy” as our final guest performance in the Lemonade on the Lawn series. This uplifting program, made possible through Humanities Montana Speakers Bureau and Hometown Humanities, is sheer poetry and one not to be missed!
 
Lewing, an actor, singer, songwriter, poet, storyteller, author and historian, marked fifty years of performance in 2011. He is the managing director of the Port Polson Players Theatre, has served as technical adviser to the Custer Reenactment in Hardin, and performs with the popular Montana ShamRockers.
 
Lewing will present non-stop theatrical entertainment featuring traditional and original folk songs and will examine the important role of music in our history and our heritage and why its importance is no less vital today. This show will feature many traditional tunes, such as “Shenandoah,” “Down in the Mine,” and “160 Acres,” plus a few from his internationally acclaimed albums including “Milwaukee Road,” “Riverboat,” and “The Irish Sing and Dance.”
 
Free lemonade and a cookie will be provided for all attendees!

RUN ~ PADDLE ~ SWIM

Libby Christian Church is sponsoring the first annual Kootenai Valley Triathlon on Saturday, August 29, 2015. This 5K run/7 mile paddle/7.5 mile pedal is a competitive race for the beginner triathlete to the seasoned serious racer - old and young alike! Participants may take part in the race individually or compete as a team.
