This very worthwhile workshop will provide an overview of the opportunities and challenges of starting a food business while covering an array of topics ranging from the Cottage Food Law, Food Safety Modernization Act, Food Product Development, Processing Options, Business Plan Formality, Business Overview, and Organizational Structure/Cooperatives.

Upon completion of this fascinating and highly detailed discussion of food product development from concept to consumer, participants will be provided with the information needed to succeed at a food business.

Instructor Jan Tusick has a strong background in agriculture, finance, capitalization, and marketing. Furthermore, she networks with economic development organizations and various agencies statewide.

The Rotary Club of Kootenai Valley is the driving force behind numerous worthwhile community projects. They are your neighbors, community leaders, and global citizens working together to improve our community and create lasting positive change in the world.
 
Each year, the Rotary Club of Kootenai Valley hosts this distinctive fundraising event that features exceptional wine from around the world paired with fine food prepared by local acclaimed caterers.
 
Among the Annual Wine Tasting festivities is a dynamic mix of events including a live auction, a silent auction, great raffle prizes and door prizes, live entertainment, and fabulous fellowship.
 
Proceeds from this fundraiser support several on-going projects including those that provide recreational opportunities for our community’s youth, various scholarships for Libby and Troy high school students, the administration of Rotary Basketball for our local athletes, support for community-based projects including the Libby Food Pantry, Koats for Kids and Family Day in the Park.
 
This list only makes up a small fraction of what the dedicated volunteers of the Rotary Club of Kootenai Valley have accomplished as they gathered together bringing their time, talents, and skills, whatever the economic ups and downs, to strengthen our communities.

Kootenai Valley Friends of NRA Banquet 

​Kootenai Valley Friends of NRA will be hosting this year’s annual fundraiser banquet on Friday, February 24, 2017 beginning at 6:00pm bringing fun and fellowship to community members and families alike that want to help support America’s hunting heritage and the future of shooting sports in our country while enjoying an evening with fellow Second Amendment supporters.

The money raised at this event will go to the NRA Foundation which provides essential program funding for quality educational opportunities and firearms training and safety for the men, women, and children of our country.

As Friday’s dinner is open to everyone of all ages, the night will include auctions, raffles and door prizes featuring many limited edition NRA embellished firearms, prints and other merchandise only available at the NRA Foundation banquet.

Winter is behind us and spring has finally sprung! This is your time to renew your spirit, your mind, and your body at the Cabinet Peaks Medical Center annual spring Health Fair.
 
On Saturday, April 1, 2017 beginning at 9:30 am, the Libby Memorial Events Center will be transformed into an educational and informative event where fairgoers can gain valuable health tips and information that will be presented by representatives from various area health and human service organizations.
 
As always, laboratory vouchers will be given to the first 200 attendees with discounted health screenings offered to all fairgoers.
